  13. Hands-on materials for more interactive learning 
  14. The training labs (depends on class, of course) make use of carefully chosen training aides such as our Gulfstream aircraft, various rafts, life jackets, survival equipment, flare demonstrations, fire extinguishers, pool, etc.
  15. Heated pool in winter months and the Airtel pool in warmer weather. Water shoes are recommended for the pool deck when we use the Airtel.
  16. Dress with long pants or a swimming suit and shirt for the pool exercise
  17. Classes begin at 8:00 unless other arrangements have been made. Please allow extra time for our infamous LA traffic.

Private Courses
Several times a year, CAPS offers private classes for owners, studios, companies, flight departments and others interested in classes just for their group. These are mostly taught at CAPS, but we can arrange to travel to your location. Contact CAPS at tteutsch@capsaviation.com.

FAR 135.331 Emergency Crew Traiining Hypoxia Recognition & Recovery Training  Cabin Services Training  Heartsaver First Aid, CPR & AED Training

FAR 135.331 Crewmember Emergency Training (More Course Detail Here)
This training is required annually for all crewmembers on each aircraft type, model, and configuration, each crewmember, and each kind of operation conducted, as appropriate for each crewmember and the certificate holder. (FAR 135.331(a)).  Emergency training is subdivided into three (3) groups: 1). General Emergency Training, 2). Emergency Situation Training and 3). Emergency Drill Training.  This training must be conducted every 12 months (FAR 135.295, 135.331, 135.349, 135.351). 

CAPS’ training also includes the requirements of G550 Evacuation Crewmember Training (Document No. GVSP-GER-6111 and Supplement Number G550-OMS-1).  Training meets all applicable regulations for emergency procedures training as required under CFR Parts 91, 125, 135, JAR OPS1, IS-BAO standards.  Certificates of training are issued for one year.

CAPS' Aviation Oriented AHA Hearsaver First Aid, CPR & AED (More Course Detail Here)
Our aviation-specific training will help you become a more confident responder and prepare you to recognize the need for, and administer, basic first aid and CPR.  Classes are taught by aviation professionals and based on the latest national standards, OSHA Blood Borne Pathogens standard 1919.1030, DOT and American Heart Association protocols.

The course is geared to the flight environment and the constraints of administering first aid on board business aircraft, including the medical application and use of on-board AED, emergency first aid equipment and oxygen systems.

This course offers a 2 year certification from AHA

FAR 31.61 - Hypoxia Recognition & Recovery

Flying above 25,000 feet? This course is a must for you. The purpose of this training will be to familiarize each Crewmember with their individual signs and symptoms of hypoxia through lecture and simulation training. The training objective is for each Crewmember to successful recognize and positively react to their symptoms of hypoxia.
